When are we happy?

When we are busy doing something,

Or when we simply do nothing,

Perhaps we are happy! 

When we tell a story to a child,

Or hum a tune we’ve always loved— 

Perhaps we are happy!

When we do selfless service

Don't want anything for ourselves

Is that where happiness begins? 

When we bow our heads and pray,

“Thanks to the Creator,” we say, 

Is that where happiness deepens? 

This life is short—let love be vast,

Enjoy each moment, make it last.

Let’s understand our loved ones well, 

Let’s recognize the strangers as well!
